Lincoln: A Poetic Opera
In honor of the bicentennial of Abraham Lincoln's birth, NYC composer George Andoniadis has combined music, history, and poetry into a dramatic meditation on Lincoln and his time with us, through a series of vignettes drawn from Lincoln's own words, the poetry of Walt Whitman, Psalms and New Testament selections, and excerpts from The Children of Pride, a southern family's collection of letters from the Civil War period. Join us in a tribute to this most remarkable of men.
